Does batana help hair grow?
Batana butter seals moisture into the lengths and ends and strengthens each strand, so far less of it breaks off. That's how you keep the length you grow: most people see softer, stronger and fuller-looking hair over 90 days of regular use.

How long until I see a difference?
Most people notice softer, shinier, smoother hair after the first use. Less breakage usually shows within 3 to 4 weeks, and fuller-looking hair after 8 to 12 weeks of using the cream after every wash. Results vary from person to person.
What does it smell like?
Warm and nutty, with a light roasted, slightly smoky note from the batana. That's what real, unrefined batana smells like; odourless batana has been deodorised. It is much softer than pure batana oil and fades as the cream sinks in.
Will it work for my hair type?
Yes. Batana is used on every hair type, from fine and straight to tight coils. Thick, curly and coily hair can take more cream on the lengths; fine hair does best with a pea-sized amount on the ends only.
I have fine or oily hair. Will it weigh it down?
Not if you use it sparingly. Warm a pea-sized amount in your palms and press it into the ends only, and keep it off the roots. Use the 20-minute mask on wash day rather than leaving a thick layer in.
Is it safe for coloured or relaxed hair?
Yes. The cream contains only plant oils and butters, so it is safe on coloured, bleached, relaxed and permed hair.
Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
The formula is made of plant oils and butters, but every pregnancy is different. Check with your doctor or midwife first, and do a patch test behind the ear.

How long does each jar last?
The 150 ml jar lasts 2 to 3 months as a leave-in, a little less if you also use it as a weekly mask.
How do I know it’s real batana?
Three checks. Label: the ingredient list should start with Elaeis Oleifera and state how much batana is in the jar (ours is 30%). If it says Elaeis Guineensis, that is ordinary African palm oil. Texture: a firm, light tan butter that melts in your palms. Scent: warm, nutty and lightly roasted, never perfumed.
